Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - The definitive vampire reference book
Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/R2C2YXI17RRRQY 852 pages of wall-to-wall vampire knowledge. It must be yours. With the ever-increasing never-shrinking internet only a click away, it's easy to abandon our old friend the book. But I'm here to tell you right now that there is always room in your home for these troves of excellence. There is no replacement for the satisfaction of turning that last page of a massive volume like this and knowing that you now possess all of the information within in your mind. With the internet, there are too many distractions (porn: always just a click away!), search engines, and other shortcuts that have you cherry-picking tidbits of information rather than gaining a comprehensive understanding of a given subject. In the hands of the lazy, the internet is dumbing down our society.

"The Vampire Book" is an absolute godsend for anybody with an unhealthy obsession for the undead. [raises hand] I've been fascinated and terrified by the notion of the dead rising from their grave and commanding power over the living, subsisting on their blood, seducing their women, gathering minions, and spreading their plague -all right under the noses of their unsuspecting prey- for as long as I can remember (I blame Bela Lugosi). There's something just so COOL about the notion. This book compiles all the films you should watch, the books and stories you should read, the comics you should check out, the role-playing game you should be playing, and all the history and folklore you could ever hope for from all over the world, psychological analysis, and more: all in you hands. What more do you want? If you have a thirst for horror knowledge, then latch onto this vein and suck it dry and you will achieve immortality. Okay, not really, but chicks dig vamps. For further research into my favorite things, seek thee the sequel to this musty old tome, The Werewolf Book (Pssst. That one's about werewolves).

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Wow
I was looking for something different and just checked out the back cover to see what it was all about. Seemed intresting and saw that Angel of the Buffyverse lore was featured. I decided to stop and read it real quick.

I cannot recommend a book that could easily fix it's faults, of which there are apparently many. I got about a paragraph into the book. I stopped when it said the character of Angel was from Greece. Not only wrong, but for some reason this word, Greece, was in bold. I decided that I would not continue reading to see what other screw ups lie within the pages, not when apparently the fact checkers of the book cannot be bothered to call at least and entry level Angel fan, who would know the correct information.

I wouldn't but much stoke in this book, it's filled with information, but like wikipedia, how much of it is actually credible?

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Very interesting and Informative
Although I haven't read this entire Encyclopedia yet, I can say that it covers almost everything one can desire in researching vampires through history and pop culture/media. It touches upon many different theories, myths and beliefs of vampires and demonstrates how we see them past present and future. If you are fascinated by vampires and enjoy learning more about them and their prescence in the human world, I would recommend investing in this book.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Vampires Dictionary
When this book arrived at home, I found a big package, really I didn't expect such measures!. It is one of the most biggest and complete book i have about vampires (an I have more than 20).

There are more than 1000 definitions about vampire-terminology like stack, garlic, Bathory, Strigoi....All of them taken from classical novels like Dracula, Vampire of Polidori, Carmilla..., from Classical and Modern Vampire movies and also from anthropology and folklore.

Highly recommended.
