![]() Rating: - great bookThis is an awesome book for sugaar flower lovers! step by step on how to make the flowers (using the right tools); beautiful and colorful flowers; great recipes; cake ideas. it's a must. Rating: - Mixed FeelingsI purchased this book hoping for a step by step guide to creating sugar flowers. Well it is and it isn't. The descriptions are fairly detailed, but the illustrations are simple line drawings and turned out to be not enough for me to go on. It took much longer to duplicate the work because I would have to read and re-read a section of directions and try to image it out in my head what the step meant. Some simple photos, as opposed to black line drawings, would more helpful. Overall, I still got value from the book, it was just not exactly what I was looking for. Rating: - A must for your CollectionI have been a cake decorator for 40 yrs and I wish this book was out in my starting out lessons. I recommend it for all those who love the art of gum paste. Rating: - Great variety of flowersI love making gumpaste flowers and this book is among those which has the greatest variety of different flowers. Instructions seem easy to follow (at least if you are not a complete beginner), though I have to admit that I almost never make flowers according to exact instructions anymore, i.e. I adapt the procedure and print out several pics of real flowers and work from those. However, books like this are ideal for people who are bored with conventional roses-stephanotis-jasmine-lilies-cala lilies-blossoms type of sugarcraft decorations, and would welcome ideas for something a bit different. The flowers are very beautiful, though personally I like Alan Dunn's work a bit better. Still, an excellent book.
