![]() Rating: - Beautiful!I purchased this book at the suggestion of a friend who has owned a bakery. I have learned so much about baking from reading The Cake Bible. Rose Leby Beranbaum is so thorough in her explanations concerning baking. I love knowing the reason you do something! It's a great book for the novice baker who yearns to learn more. Rating: - The Cake Bible is a must have for any baker young or old alikeThe Cake Bible is a must have for any Baker young or old alike I stumbled on it at local book store & found lots of recipes I wanted to try,but I couldn't afford to buy from the book store my sister n law told me about amazon.com & this was my first purchase lost cheaper that the local book store used copy but really I couldn't let it had ever been opened, I love the cook book its got recipes for the new cook & the experienced alike all you have to do is be able to read & follow directions its that simple.There was a recipe for a white chocolate Icing I made it for my mother n law's birthday cake everyone was so impressed it was out of this world,so I made it again for my niece's birthday,it take a bit longer & is a little more expensive but when you want to make to impress a little more cost goes a long way the only thing that coasted extra was the white chocolate but the taste & the compliments from everyone was worth the price of the cook book & the chocolate.Everything I have made or baked has tasted wonderful & I have gotten rave reviews from my family & friends..:) Rating: - Good to a pointI have loved this cookbook for the most part. I think I have gotten to accustomed to the shiny full color pages in other books I own. This only has a section of pictures in color. The rest are printed recipes. It's good information and I am grateful to have this book with so many new things to try. I just wish it were in a nicer format. Rating: - Success comes with patice and help from an expertWith this book I fell like I've got enough baking books. Lots of information about types of cakes, fillings, frostings, decorations, etc. All the misterious things explained. It's not the key for success, but when you understand the processes involved in the baking it instanteneouly decreses the chances of things going wrong. Thats what this book provides to you. I had never bought a cake again. In crisis time its good to know how to make things with your own hands. If it's not usefull for making money, at least you're gonna be happy eating great cakes. A Black Forest cake costs me R$20,00 (reais - brazilian money) to bake. If I would buy one it would cost me R$50,00 and it would not be so good with all the fresh cherries I like.
