![]() Rating: - FabulousThe Fricassed Chicken with Olives and Cherry Tomatoes alone is worth the price of this book. It is fabulous, and is worthy of any dinner party. And so simple in the Hazan tradition. I didn't like the scallion pasta, but generally you cannot go wrong with this book. And as for Marcella cooking for her family, well, I think if there were more of it in the world we would all be better off. Rating: - Early DaysI have been too busy (aren't we all at this time of year?) to do anything more than browse the pages but so far I'm impressed. The book fell open at a recipe for biscuits -- cookies if you're American -- and I wanted to make them immediately. I didn't come across anything that required 'foreign' or hard to find ingredients and nothing seemed too complex to make in my home kitchen. Everything reads as delicious! If this review had been requested a month or so later I'm sure I'd have included one or two more stars. Rating: - Very Nice RecepiesI like the way the recepies are presented. Her book is full of technics that help one make an authentic Italian dish. I tries a risoto dish, a scallop, and a fish dish and they were total success, thanks to her suggestions. Rating: - A book put to good use. This book was given as a gift to an Italian friend who had the following comments: The recipes seem to be more authentic Italian style with excellent flavors. The ingredients have been easy to find and the shopping for them fun. The narration provided is very helpful and the recipes easy to follow. The high quality pictures add to the enjoyment of trying new dishes.
