 Rating:  - Attractive, Sturdy and Handy!Yes,I know I could use any ol' bowl for this purpose, but I have really enjoyed this bright, attractive bowl. After it comes out of the dishwasher it even has a designated spot on the kitchen counter. It's good quality melamine and due to that it doesn't retain odors, is sturdy as hell, and washes up like a dream. The design is a throw back to the kitchenware of the 50's and 60's...maybe that's why it appeals to me! I've used it so much that when they went on sale, I ordered another one for myself and one for my mom. I plan to use one for "wet" garbage (destined for the garbage disposal or compost) and one for "dry" garbage (destined for the trash can). As for all those who feel it necessary to post negative reviews for things they don't own, nor even plan to own, stop wasting my time! If you don't own it, your opinion doesn't really hold a lot of water anyway. Rating:  - Are People This Stupid?Do we REALLY need a Rachael Ray endorsed mixing bowl to put the garbage in when we already have mixing bowls in our kitchens? Seems to me that the wheels of endorsement went a-turning and they all agreed that Americans ARE that stupid. This is the most ridiculous item I've ever seen. Rating: - rachel ray g.b.it is made very well, its too nice to use as a garbage bowl and the color matched my kitchen decor perfectly. I originally saw it for $24.oo and I grabbed it at the price of 7.50.. thankyou I really got a bargain!!! Rating: - G.B.So I know you could use any old bowl as a "garbage bowl". My mom gave this to me as a gift. It actually does come in handy. It is deeper than a conventional bowl so you can fit a lot in it. It is also a stirdy plastic and it can go in the dish washer. I like it.
