 Rating:  - not so easy.At first I was so impressed with this item, found in walmart for 4$, I love soft boiled eggs but it always is a hassle for me to cook them the way I like, so this one worked fine in my microwave, then we moved and sold everything, started looking for another one, found it in walmart for 7$, the construction was bad (aluminum parts came off), but I kept it ( didn't know that there are better ones in the market), also even with practice I am still unable to control the softness with my different micorwave, the time, after how long to cool them, it is hectic, they never come the same everytime, also the risk of burning your hands with the spell ( especially with high microwave), the only good thing about it is the very cheap price, but I will pay extra to get something easier and more predictable... Rating:  - Works - but my eggs cracked every timeMy eggs seem to crack every time, is there a secret to preventing this? Otherwise it works pretty much as directed by boiling water under the tray and protecting the eggs from direct microwave cooking by shielding them with an Aluminum top and tray. I've had both semi-hard boiled eggs and soft boiled eggs and both felt and tasted as if they were boiled on the stove. One thing to note...I'm not sure how they expect you to get the top off without burning your fingers a little. It's pretty hot, even after sitting 2 minutes as directed, and a pot holder is just going to slip... I'm impressed with the other people whose eggs rarely cracked. As I said, my eggs crack every time. I even tried using Egglands Best to see if that improved my chances of getting a better shell...no such luck. Overall, it's worthwhile. I hope I can solve the cracking problem, perhaps if I lay them on their side? Rating:  - Amazon shipped me broken merchandiseNever got a chance to try the Nordic Ware Egg Boiler. The shipping carton was in perfect condition but the item inside had been crushed before it was packed. Amazon charged me more for shipping than the product cost and shipped me a crushed egg boiler. I threw it in the trash. I recommend you buy this product from someone other than Amazon. Rating:  - Simple to use.I bought this item at the request of my father. He wanted to try it as he is 83 years old and wanted a simple way to make soft boiled eggs for my mother. He loves it! He found it easy and convenient to use.
