![]() Rating: - Perfect Replacement PartWe dropped and damaged the freezer bowl that came with our Cuisinart ice cream maker. I bought the replacement from Amazon - it works perfectly. Now enjoying homemade ice cream again. Rating: - Excellent replacement bowlThere isn't much to say about this. It's just as good as the original. The only downside is the price. I wish it was about $10 cheaper. Rating: - Two are much better than oneI always keep a freezer bowl in my freezer because I use it for much more than simply making ice cream and if I had a larger freezer, I'd keep it stocked with two. First of all, I have found that keeping it upside down enables the internal solution to chill faster and more uniformly, and I usually put it on top of other frozen items like a bag or two of peas. Secondly, I use it when I need to chill something quickly, then replace it once the chilling is done. I've even used this as an impromptu ice bucket to quickly chill a bottle of wine, and I simply covered the exterior with a nice piece of fabric to conceal its true identity. Once again, back into the freezer until it was next needed for ice cream or another quick solution to a chilling problem. My only complaint with this is that it is so darn expensive when you consider the cost of the entire ice cream maker is not much more money. In my experience, I have found that when some consumers tire of the ice cream making novelty, they often donate theirs to a second hand store or sell them at a yard sale. I've been fortunate enough to have found a second machine as well as the backup bowl and have been thrilled that they are still in great condition after several years and many gallons of ice cream. On the other hand, just like the yogurt maker I bought as a backup when Amazon had it on sale, I'll probably buy another bowl for the second ice cream maker and give them both to a friend. I love Cuisinart electronics and enjoy extending their lives. Rating: - You'll be thankful you have this extra freezer bowl! This extra bowl is exactly like the one that comes with the Cuisinart ICE-20 Automatic 1-1/2-Quart Ice-Cream Maker, White, a double-wall canister that contains freezing liquid, so you can replace a damaged bowl or simply order to have an extra one. If you plan to use your ice cream maker a lot, you'll want to order this, especially because the bowl must be frozen for at least 15 hours prior to freezing, making it impossible to make two ice cream recipes back-to-back. With two bowls, you can freeze up one batch right after the other instead of waiting for another day to make the next flavor. Of course, that means that you must have the freezer space for both. Recommended for people with the freezer space and for those who frequently use their ice cream makers. -- Debbie Lee Wesselmann
