Dewey Decimal Number: 641 EAN: 9781891267758 Edition: 7th ISBN: 1891267752 Label: The Wine Appreciation Guild Languages: Manufacturer: The Wine Appreciation Guild Number Of Items: 1 Number Of Pages: 256 Publication Date: 2004-09 Publisher: The Wine Appreciation Guild Studio: The Wine Appreciation Guild Editorial Review: Product Description: The number-one, best-selling drink recipe book is updated in this new edition and has 100 new drinks; an expanded martini section (200 total) with tips, techniques and secrets (and a salute to the Big Apple); a huge list of dessert drinks and a piece on the world’s finest Cognac; a philosophical discussion on, and inventory of, Flavored Vodkas, Gins and Rums; and drinks that take a new slant on Floaters, Shooters and Layered Drinks. That brings the complete drink count to 2,700. That’s well over a thousand more than any other pour book. This new edition also has an expanded wine section with Robert M. Parker’s, Jr. "Wine Vintage Guide," "Parker Speaks on Wine," and Parker’s glossary of wine terms. Of course this book still has all its good old features: an index by ingredients, in depth mixing instructions, metric conversion tables, a list of every possible garnish, sections on hot drinks, frozen drinks, beers, ales, lagers, and "malternatives," and S.K.C.’s "Glossary of Club, Restaurant and Bar Terms, and Slang." (Sample Below.) Weisenheimer(n): slang, an obnoxious person; someone who thinks their banter is clever or humorous, even though others may not. Wounded Soldier (n): a beer that has been opened, partially consumed and left to die. See Soldier, and Dead Soldier. Related Items:

![]() Rating: - Convenient, a must-have guideI ordered this book for my BF who has started bartending recently. This book has not only all the recipes you need, but also helpful tips and explanations! Great book! Also like the spiral bound feature....quick access to any recipe. The only reason I didn't give five stars is the size of the print, but with all the information, the size of the book makes sense. Rating: - Great reference book for mixing drinksAlthough this book is designed for and caters to the professional bartender, as an at home bartender, I found this book to be complete and easy to reference any drink I can imagine. It is laid out alphabetically by name, yet there is an index of drinks listed by ingredient in the back to easily find a variety of drinks for any ingredient seeking to use in a mixed concoction. Additionally there is a breakdown of the drink titles by type of drink for researching in the A-Z list (Non-alcoholic, martinis, hot drinks, frozen drinks, shots, shooters, quickies, floaters, and dessert drinks).A lot of useful information for the bartender (professional or at home) with mixing, garnishes, glasses, drink terms, bar lingo and more. A complete wine guide is included as well. Rating: - Great forward and one of the few books that have a wide selectionI own about 5 books on drink recipes. This book has some of the more popular drinks in it. Colorado Bulldog, Madras, Mai Tais, Bahama Mama, Stingers, Salty Dogs, and Greyhounds are just a few real popular and common drinks that are left out of most books. To me missing anyone of these few cocktails makes a statement of other people's books. More often than not, you will find this book behind the bar with me. This book has common bar terms listed, advice, tips on martinis, plus a lot more. I'm always looking for new drinks to please my guests and this book really helps me out. Rating: - Great bookI am not a bartender, far from it. Yet I understand the recipes and am able to recreate them. There are some great ideas for other things that relate to making drinks and dealling with the after affects of them. It also more than doubles the recipes by stating you can make any shot a drink and any drink a shot. I am ready to surprise my family will be velection of drinks that they can choose from next time they come over for a drink.
