Average Rating:
![]() Rating: - Good variety and a lot of recipesThis book is a good summary of many varieties of mixes that can be made as gifts. There is a broad selection. The price is a little high for a book that is not hard cover. However, there are a lot of recipes in it. Compared to the 'Gifts in a Jar' series you get many more recipes for the price. That series only has about 25 recipes... (Yes, there are nice recipe cards pre-made to attach to the recipe in the Gifts in a ..... series.) Rating: - Superior Content. Highly Recommended. Well WrittenVery clear instructions. Content is amazing... there are 200 recipes in this book, while the "other" book on this subject has only 23 recipes. All the pages are full of info in this book, while the "other" book has mostly blank pages upon which you are supposed to write gift tag info. I was very disappointed with the "other" book on this subject, but very pleased with this large version. The recipes fit a quart jar, unlike the "other" book. The illustrations are cute! Good price considering you get 200 recipes, as opposed to the "other" book with only 23 recipes in it. Everyone can find some recipe with 200 in this book. If you don't then an attitude adjustment is in order. You get a lot of recipes for your money. Rating: - Book Sales Jargon great--------------Content Below averageI was very disappointed in this book. Many of the recipes were regular recipes wth directions to put in a quart jar. You could take any recipe from any book and do the same thing....(at a much cheapr price) The book reminds me of the fundraiser cookbooks. There were no illustrations and the instructions were not well written. Rating: - The best book of its type. Real recipesThe best thing about this book is that the recipes actually fit a 1 quart canning jar. All the other books on this subject expect you go to out and find jars of a million different sizes to fit their recipes. All the recipes in this book are scaled to a 4 cup / 1 quart jar. Other books seem to just rip off recipes from the internet that are not exactly 1 quart recipes. This book has a great 6 page introduction section which tells you to buy vanilla powder at the cake decorating supply store (yellow pages) or buy it from the ton of vendors selling it on the internet, etc. There are other books on the subject, but if you're looking for recipes that will fit exactly into a 1 quart jar this is the ONLY book that will meet your needs.
